Statement of Faith:

The Eastgate Hope on the Hill Chapel believes the whole Bible to be completely and equally inspired and that it is the written Word of God. The Eastgate Hope on the Hill Chapel has adopted the following Statement of Faith as its standard and official expression of its doctrine.

We Believe:

  • THE SCRIPTURES: The bible is the inspired Word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16.
  • THE GODHEAD: In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Matthew 3:16-17.
  • JESUS CHRIST:  is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
  • MAN & HIS FALL AND REDEMPTION: That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins. John 3:3-5, 2 Corinthians 7:10, 1John 5:12.
  • SANCTIFICATION: sanctification is a progressive work of grace, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.  Hebrews 12:14.
  • HOLINESS: Holiness to be God's standard of living for His people.
  • BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT: The baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to those who are believers in this dispensation and is received subsequent to the new birth: Acts 1: 8, 2: 38-39.
  • WATER BAPTISM: Baptism in water is by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Matthew 28:19.
  • DIVINE HEALING: Healing is provided for all in the atonement of Christ. Isaiah 53:4-5.
  • COMMUNION: In the Lord's Supper and washing of the saints' feet.                     1 Corinthians 11:23-31.
  • RESURRECTION OF THE JUST AND RETURN OF OUR LORD: In the pre-millennial second coming of Jesus. First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.
  • HELL AND ETERNAL RETRIBUTION: In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.
  • LAYING ON OF HANDS: Mark 5:23-41.
